Korea and Japan, the "countries that are close, yet distant' from each other, have become one in a passion for the gospel and for missions in a prayer meeting called "Embracing All Nations," which took place in Washington state.
The prayer meeting took place at Japanese International Baptist Church in Tacoma on September 18th, and was attended by Korean and Japanese Christians. In Christ, everyone shared one heart, and prayed that God's kingdom would be expanded on the earth.
"Today, we're experiencing the joy of seeing Korea and Japan becoming one in Christ, in God," said Pastor Masaomi Takeochi, the senior pastor at Japanese International Baptist Church.
"I hope, expect, and pray that this love that we've experienced will also heal many others, and that through our unity, America and the whole world will also experience unity and God's healing," he added.
Pastor Takeochi further asked for prayers for Japan, a country in which not even 1% of nation has received the gospel.
"I pray that through the cross of Christ, that these souls will be saved, and that we'll experience the same kind of revival that has been seen in Korea," he said.
Pastor Chang-Myeong Kim, the senior pastor of Tacoma New Light Church, preached a sermon titled "Meeting," and spoke from Acts 8:29-39.
"If we obey the Lord even when we can't understand Him with our own thoughts or experiences, we will experience and meet with Him personally," he said.
"Let us continue to seek God's will and go out in faith, and be used by the Lord in America and throughout the world. Let us be people who glorify the Lord and are used in preaching the gospel to all nations," he added.
After the sermon, attendees prayed for several prayer topics, including providence for missionaries all over the world who are sharing the gospel; for the unity of churches and missional organizations in the region; for unity and revival in the next generation; for America, Korea, and the communities of each nation; for all those struggling with illnesses and disease; among others.
