Nexus 5 2015 Rumors and Specs: Details and Design of Google’ Latest Nexus Device Leaked [Video]

Google may have accidentally leaked the design and other details of the upcoming 2nd generation Nexus 5 device in a video showcasing some of Android M's features.

The video, which was posted on YouTube by Google Developers, teaches users how the OS' fingerprint scanner support can be used for secure online purchases and transactions.

At the 2:59 minute mark of Google's video for Fingerprint and Payments APIs, the woman demonstrating the service can be seen holding a red colored smartphone. According to the presenter, the handset has been modified to feature a fingerprint sensor at the back, right next to the device's rear camera.

The clip, which was shared on Reddit, caused forum users to speculate that the featured handset might be a prototype version of Google's Nexus 5 2015.

A user also pointed out that the smartphone in the video has a port for a USB Type-C, a feature which is becoming a common addition to most next-gen devices.

Although Google has not yet confirmed if the handset in the video is the Nexus 5, BGR noted that it could serve as an early or unreleased model of the 2nd generation smartphone.

As for its other rumored specs, the Nexus 5 2015 is expected to come with a 5.2-inch display with a resolution of 1440x2560 pixels. It could also be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 processor and pack 3GB of RAM, according to International Business Times.

For its camera, LG and Huawei, Google's partners in the development of the next Nexus handset, might equip the device with a 13-megapixel main shooter and a 2-megapixel front shooter.

As for its OS, since Google has recently released the Android M, the out-of-the-box Nexus 5 2015 might come with this system. In addition, if speculations regarding Google's video are true, then the Nexus 5 2015 will perfectly work with many of the features of Android M.
