Tom Cruise has reprised his role as secret agent Ethan Hunt in five "Mission: Impossible" films already, the latest being "Rogue Nation," which would hit cinemas in a couple of days.

When Cinema Blend asked the A-list actor what made him choose to do several "Mission: Impossible" films as opposed to other franchises, the actor revealed: "I don't know, I mean. That's why I haven't done any sequels, is because I really feel that this is what I'm interested in right now. I don't know any other ones."

Cruise is overwhelmed by the success of "Mission: Impossible," which managed to reinvent itself from film after film. He appreciates the franchise because each movie is different and he manages to learn something new out of each one.

"I really feel privileged to be able to have made five of these. Every time I go out, I learn more. Every time, you know, a 'Mission' is a very unique movie because of the structure of the movies. To really work on these sequences, you have to work on layer upon layer. It really takes everyone's effort, from all departments. And right now, I just love that challenge," he said.

However, Cruise will be working on another sequel soon - "Jack Reacher 2." The original film was directed by "Rogue Nation" director Christopher McQuarrie, but the sequel will be handed over to Brett Ratner.

There will be several changes made on the sequel, according to author Lee Child. It will be based on his novel "Never Go Back," which follows Reacher as he travels to Virginia to meet with a woman he has been flirting with on the phone. However, their meeting does not go as planned. She gets arrested and Reacher finds out he is re-enlisted in the army.

To top it all off, he forms a relationship with a young girl named Samantha Dayton, who may or may not be his daughter.

"It was a thing that convinced them about which book to make for the next movie," Child told Empire. "It's almost a three-hander in terms of audience appeal - you've got Reacher, you've got the woman sidekick (Major Susan Turner), and then you've got this strong teenage girl character which they were very interested in."

Another sequel Cruise is eyeing is "Top Gun 2," where he will reprise his role as Lieutenant Pete "Marverick" Mitchell, a young Naval pilot on board the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise.
